What? Another Coach?

When people first hear the term health coach, the reaction is often: Really? Another coach?

It’s a fair question. We’re familiar with athletic coaches (ahem), executive coaches, even life coaches. But health coaching is a distinct and evidence-based practice that addresses a fundamental truth: knowing what to do for your health is not the same as consistently doing it.

A Nationally Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach works with you to bridge that gap. Rather than prescribing a one-size-fits-all solution, a health coach partners with you to:

  • Define what optimal health means in the context of your life, values, and goals.

  • Break down complex goals into clear, sustainable steps.

  • Build accountability structures that make follow-through easier.

  • Develop the mindset and skills to adapt when obstacles inevitably arise.

Why not just go it alone?

The reality is that behavior change is hard. Research consistently shows that support, accountability, and structured reflection increase the likelihood of lasting change. Health coaching has been linked with improved outcomes in nutrition, physical activity, weight management, stress reduction, and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.¹ ²

Importantly, health coaching is not therapy. While therapy often focuses on processing the past, coaching is forward-looking. It is particularly effective for those seeking clarity, momentum, or meaning in their everyday lives — individuals who want to translate aspirations into tangible action.

At its core, health coaching is a partnership built on respect, curiosity, and a belief in your capacity for growth — often one that extends beyond what you currently imagine possible.

So yes, another coach. But perhaps the one who helps you align your daily actions with your deepest vision of health and well-being.
